The nature and intent of dowry have always varied greatly between nations, but in recent years many nations have banned the practice. However, in Nepal's Terai-Madhes region, it has persisted in its most extreme forms.

The Neha Chaudhary Case Of Dowry in Nepal

The Mahottari Police have arrested Dr Pankaj Chaudhary(Spouse of the victim Mrs. Neha chaudhary)of Ramgopalpur Municipality-5 in Mahottari. According to Superintendent of Police Krishna Pangeni, Chaudhary was arrested at 11 p.m. on Tuesday night from his own home.

On Monday, the District Court in Mahottari ordered Neha's family members to allow her into the residence while hearing the domestic violence case against Pankaj.

However, as Dr. Pankaj and his family refused to let Neha into the house, Pankaj was arrested at night and taken to the District Police Office in Mahottari. Following Pankaj's detention, other members of his family closed the house and fled. Neha has filed a complaint against six persons, including her husband.

Pankaj's family was at odds with Neha, who had returned to live with her husband. Neha organized a sit-in at the house's gate after the argument. She begged the local officials to let her into the residence. But when no one showed any interest, she left.

Neha of Aurahi Municipality-1 married Pankaj nine months ago. Pankaj chaudhary is a doctor and he is working at the kathmandu's Grande International Hospital and Norvic International Hospital. Pankaj was sacked from his work after being accused of assaulting his wife.

In the case of Neha and Pankaj, seven cases have been filed. Neha has filed five cases against Pankaj, and Pankaj has filed two cases against Neha. Pankaj filed a divorce petition in Mahottari District Court and an injunction case in Janakpur High Court. The next hearing on the injunction case is planned for January 3rd, according to lawyer Rinku Kumari, who is pursuing Neha's lawsuits for free.

Neha has also filed five lawsuits against Pankaj. According to Yadav, Pankaj has been charged with criminal charges involving partiality, domestic violence, water supply, written divorce, and dowry. In the dowry case, Rs 5 million in compensation and five years in prison have been sought. Despite the fact that she has registered all of these lawsuits, Neha is eager to settle down and live with her spouse. According to lawyer Yadav, if Pankaj is open to reconciliation, Neha plans to drop all cases and live with him.

While Neha was studying in Kathmandu, Pankaj, an MBBS doctor, worked at Grande International Hospital and Norvic International Hospital. Pankaj's family allegedly compelled Neha to discontinue her education following her engagement.
